A wee bit about John Allan |
|
|
After moving from Scotland to Los Angeles to pursue a rock music career, John ran into a pipe band drummer who turned out to be his former bagpipe teacher's grandson. Their conversation rejuvenated John's love of the bagpipes. John joined the LA Scots pipe band in 1998 and played with them as the first American band to qualify for the grade one World Championship finals in 1999. During this period he also started playing guitar with a traditional celtic band and graduated from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. John decided it was time to combine the music he loved: rock, bagpipes, and celtic music. The result is the current CD, "Stand Easy". John has played with various performers such as Korn, The Chieftains, Michael Flattley, Charlotte Church, The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and The Tonight Show Band. He has also appeared or played in numerous movies and TV shows such as Austin Powers 2, Primary Colors, West Wing, and Providence.
